Coach's corner is a great tool for coaches. Coaching resources and articles as well sample training sessions and links to additional coaching website can be found below.
There will be a Coach Clinic for new coaches offered shortly before the season, in mid-July, at the Soccer Complex on Cty Rd C, west of Washburn. All coaches who are assigned to a team must attend this clinic or have coached before. Potential volunteers that have not been assigned to coach a team, but would like to explore the possibility of coaching are encouraged to register and come to this clinic held each year just before the start of the fall season. This year the introductory Y1 coaching course will be conducted at the Washburn fields during the first part of the season. Participants should register first through WYSA's Demosphere, select Youth Module, and then the Washburn option. There is no cost for the coaching course, but see the Pass Card requirement
Coaches are also encouraged to complete the free online US Soccer Introduction to Grassroots Coaching course. The WI Youth Soccer Assoc. requires a Pass Card and completion of an online Risk Management course to coach youth soccer. The Club with pay your registration fees for Pass Card and coach training.
Coach training is initiated through the US Soccer's Digital Coaching Center. Register for an free account to see available options and start the process. After the free online Introduction course, coaches will take one of the appropriate online Grassroots Courses
